The annual #Toronto St Paddy's Day parade is this Sunday, March 17, 2013. Floats, bands and parade participants with first gather at Bloor and St George before heading out on Bloor Street at noon, south on Yonge Street and heading to Nathan Phillips Square/City Hall on Queen Street West. The people dressed in green were having a party at Yonge-Dundas Square during the past weekend.

On the anniversary of the 1959 Tibetan Rebellion a community gathered in #Toronto on Sunday, March 10 to commemorate the National Uprising Day. Members “express solidarity with ongoing struggle of human spirit against the brutal might of China in Tibet.” In a non-violent protest against Chinese rule, 24 Tibetans have killed themselves by self-immolation in China in the last year, three in the last three days".

This story starts with the end. Colon Cancer Canada, the people behind your behind, officially launch the awareness month in #Toronto with spokesperson Darryl Sittler, former Maple Leaf hockey legend, and the Ontario Professional Firefighters Association. The firefighters even drove up in some fire trucks, although one was officially retired from active service many decades ago. The launch took place in Yonge-Dundas Square on Friday, March 1, 2013 and the campaign had Darryl’s awareness poster with “Fear colon cancer, not the test.” Darryl lost his wife to colon cancer.On a related note a 10k Colon Cancer Canada’s push for you tush run will be held Sunday, June 2, 2013 inToronto. You can do the full 10 kilometre run or take part in the 5k walk or the 1k toddler walk and family fun.Colon Cancer Cancer say the cancer doesn't discriminate and is the second leading cause of cancer death in our country and is 90% treatable when detected early. Think about your butt and Stop Cancer.

Monday, February 18 SCHEDULE:

Oh, I am so excited. There is a special event that will take place in #Toronto from January 29 to 31, 2013. What can it be? I don't know because they haven't update their website and google search has tragically let me down. I do know that it involves a geodome with 'OFFICE' in large letters written on the dome.

And speaking of special events I see that on Saturday, February 2, 2013 a torontoBIEBERbuyout is scheduled for 2 pm. Meeting at Y-D Square the group will proceed to the HMV Superstore and attempt to buy all the Bieber merchandise that they can get their hands on. The CDs will then be donated to Sick Kids Hospital. This is a special celebration of the Bieb's new 'Believe Acoustic' album which drops tomorrow.

Unlike most homeowners who tend to keep Christmas decorations year round, #Toronto has started to shed some of the trees and other trappings of the jolly season. In Yonge-Dundas Square the Holiday Tree of Balls was dismantled and the bears put away for another year.

The Eaton Centre's modern version of the Christmas tree was dismantled a little while ago - only the giant reindeer remain.
